Ashael Falling

Well, what a day it’s been.

My youngest turned two today so we were all up early to open presents and have a nice breakfast together before his bog sisters headed out to school. After the school run, we took the baby for a haircut, stopped into a local café for a sneaky cuppa and did the last of the Christmas shopping.

Then it was home to put the birthday boy down for a nap. Mr K wrapped presents while I added 1000 words or so to Ashael Falling. I’m writing the climax now and it’s all very emotional. It’s harder than I expected and in a somewhat cruel way, I hope it’s just as hard for you, my readers, as it has been for me.

We had a quick lunch together then went to see our 5 year old in her first school nativity concert. She was brilliant of course. After school, we took the little ones to Storytime in our local library. All through the afternoon, I was exchanging emails with my publisher, Unbound.

I got home and cooked dinner and just as I was putting the plates out on the table, I got the news: Ashael Falling was live for crowdfunding on the Unbound website. Of course, I still had to finish dinner and put the kids to bed and all the usual routine.

It’s a little after ten now, I’m sitting at my desk in the living room and I have my first three pledgers. I am delighted and terrified and exhilarated all at once. It's such an honour to be given the chance to do this all over again.
