I first saw this meme on Cookie Break with Sarina Langer but it’s hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words and I thought it would be a lot of fun to try out. So let’s get started. The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I'm currently reading Evelyn, After by Victoria Helen Stone. This is my book for reading in the middle of the night when I'm up with the baby and it's really good. The story has gone in a completely different direction from what I had expected. I'm about 40% of the way through it and I'm still not sure what it's building towards. Very compelling and well-written.
I'm also reading Blood Shackles by Rosemary A Johns. I'm reading this in order to review it for BFS so you'll get a full review here too but I will say that I'm enjoying this book. It's written in first person and uses a lot of slang which irritated me at first but now I'm so caught up in the story that I've stopped noticing it so much. This book does contain spoilers for the first novel, Blood Dragons so keep that in mind if you're thinking about picking this one up.
What did you recently finish reading?
I recently finished reading The Night Bird by Brian Freeman and it was excellent. Very compelling reading, well written and gripping from start to finish. I finished this book in less than two days because I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys thrillers but you might want to wait until you have plenty of free time!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I will be reading Asian Monsters as soon as I've finished with blood Shackles. This is another book that I'm reviewing for BFS but I'm also reading it for this month's book in my Reading Around the World Challenge so you'll get a full review of this one. I'm really looking forward to reading it and I can tell you that it's gorgeous, full of absolutely wonderful art.
